Information
Architecture
Organizing content intuitively is crucial for accessible website experiences. Well-designed information architecture should feel as simple as Dorothy following the Yellow Brick Road.
Here is a showcase of my use of information architecture to simplify overwhelming content for users.
Featured projects
Games for Change: Games for social impact library
Challenge: In the early 2010s, video games as a medium for social change were underrecognized, despite their prevalence online, due to the lack of a centralized platform.
Solution: At Games for Change, I collaborated with developers, non-profits, and educators to create a pioneering, easy-to-navigate video game library focused on social impact, akin to Netflix for transformative games.
Impact: The library played a crucial role in our organization's work, enhancing our mission's visibility to influential attendees like Al Gore at our annual event.

Wells Fargo: Risk management process library
Challenge: Banking processes can be cumbersome and confusing, requiring specific files in a precise order. The dilemma arises when clients possess these files but lack organization.
Solution: By analyzing numerous documents and collaborating with experts, we devised logical user flows for these critical tasks. This approach enabled us to develop a comprehensive information architecture and wireframes, transforming a generic document library into a structured site.
Impact:The redesign aligned the process with the diverse needs of users at various stages, guiding them efficiently and providing necessary files when needed, streamlining the entire experience.
Polygon: Guides program
Challenge: Crafting numerous guides for a game is challenging, and integrating them into a cohesive playthrough is complex without the right CMS. Users visiting a single guide for a game on Polygon may not be aware that there are many other guides for that game.
Solution: While developing guides, my team and I concurrently created a "table of contents" post to organize all available guides per game, compensating for our CMS's lack of wiki or backlinking features with an ad hoc solution.
Impact: The guides section on Polygon, though just one part of the website, amassed over 1 billion pageviews during my tenure, significantly enhancing user access to comprehensive game help.
